The Tea Partiers of western New York need to avoid a disastrous error today, or their reputation for good sense will be damaged badly. Some of the TPs were not happy that the county chairs of the area got together to choose Jane Corwin as the candidate for the seat vacated by Republican Chris Lee, who became in a way the first man ever to blow himself out of his seat by taking his shirt off. They proclaimed themselves resentful of the fact that there was no convention. "Let the people rule", or some such, they trumpeted. Some of them were so irritated that they said that they might even consider supporting leftist perpetual candidate Jack Davis, who is willing to call his line on the ballot the Tea Party, despite the fact that he is a political clone of psycho lefty Louise Slaughter (the unborn).
About which a few points must be made:
New York state law does not allow for a primary election in the event of a special election to fill a vacancy. One good reason the Republicans didn't schedule a primary was that they couldn't.
Jane Corwin, the candidate who emerged from the proverbial "smoke-filled" room as the nominee, agrees with the Tea Party on virtually everything. She is a conservative, and the fact that she was selected by party heads doesn't change that fact. (See her campaign Website at
http://janecorwin.com/.) She is especially sound on financial matters, and with the US economy's front wheels already on the edge of the cliff we had better elect some people who understand economics, both macro- and micro-.
Wise up, Republicans and Tea Partiers of NY-26. I was misrepresented for years in Congress by Loonie Louise. I've been much better represented since I moved into NY-26. I've already got Grand Inquisitor Charles Schumer and the totally unprincipled Kirsten Gillibrand as my senators. Must we be represented by Slaughter clone Kathy Hochul, too?
(By the way, if you want to see what kind of obnoxious jerks fill out the ranks of the left these days, check out the juvenile attempt at a parody of Jane Corwin's campaign site at janecorwin.org. It's unwittingly revelatory of the juvenility of the modern leftist "mind". It's no surprise that the gutless wonders who put this garbage in public view won't do the same with their names.)
